Chicagopex 2025 Convening Societies
The American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors exists to share and discuss ideas and techniques for improving standards of exhibit preparation, judging, and the management of exhibitions. AAPE serves the entire range of people who work or have an interest in one or more of these fields; whether novice, experienced, or just beginning to think about getting involved. Through pursuit of our purposes, it is our goal to encourage your increasing participation and enjoyment of philatelic exhibiting, and to ensure the health of this part of our hobby.
The American Society of Polar Philatelists was founded in 1956 and has grown to become an international organization with approximately 300 members worldwide. Society members enjoy a common interest in the stamps, covers, and postal history of the north and south Polar Regions.
The Military Postal History Society (MPHS) promotes the study of the postal aspects of all wars and military actions of all nations. The members’ interests include soldier campaign covers, patriotics, prisoner-of-war mail, naval mail, occupation and internment covers, picture postcards of a military nature, camp cancels, field post offices, propaganda labels and leaflets, V-mail, censored mail and similar related material.
The United Postal Stationery Society (UPSS) was formed July 1, 1945. The Society has been active in producing postal stationery publications in the form of printed and/or eBook handbooks, catalogs and manuscripts since 1955.
The Auxiliary Markings Club (AMC) brings together a diverse group of collectors who are interested in the movement of the mails -- especially mail that had problems. The evidence of those problems are the markings applied to envelopes and packages as the mail was processed. They may have to do with inadequate postage, problems with the delivery address, accidents that occurred with planes, trains, ships or trucks carrying the mail, or literally hundreds of other reasons.
